JOIN OUR COUNCIL! A small commitment can make a big difference! The SNIP Interagency Council provides a sustainable foundation of collaboration and problem solving that will enable San Francisco’s Department of Children, Youth and their Families (DCYF) partners to better serve all children and youth. In addition to providing support, training and technical assistance, the SNIP Interagency Council will set up and direct the following activities:
Who is on the Council? Our current members include representatives from Jewish Vocational Service, KIDS Project, Community Alliance for Special Education, Speech and Hearing Center of Northern California, Support for Families of Children with Disabilities, Operation Access, Wu Yee Children’s Services, Children’s Council, Child Care Law Center, and more... Why should you join? Joining the DCYF SNIP Interagency Council will ensure that your voice is heard and that the needs of your agency and your clients are represented as the Council establishes SNIP’s recommendations to DCYF over the coming years. The Council also provides a great opportunity to meet and work with representatives from other agencies in the city who share your interests and concerns. You don’t need to be an expert in inclusion. We recognize that we’re all working toward inclusion but that many of us are in different places. We want as many voices to be heard as possible, so we’re looking for people from different backgrounds and with different levels of experience to join the Council. What is the commitment? The DCYF SNIP Interagency Council meets for 2 hours on the 1st Friday of every month. In between meetings we exchange feedback by email and phone but most of the work is done in the monthly Council meetings or with the help of our Steering Committee. Interested? To join the DCYF SNIP Interagency Council and be a part of the exciting work we do, or if you would like more information, please contact us. |
